Electronic Presentations

Electronic Presentations are also known as slideshows that use digital pictures and information to show their audiences a specific topic. It can be used by a student giving a electronic presentation as a project for their science teacher or even a employee pitching a new idea to his/her company.

order from most important to least:
-It can give a visual explanation of what you are trying to say
• It can be used to link complex ideas – themes, build up diagrams etc
• It can be used to include and interact with your audience
• It can be used to reinforce important information
• It can be used to summarise information

QR reader

I have the app on my blackberry phone but the image was too blurry to read when I took the picture of it.

The power of advertising

When I first watched this clip I had no idea it was a commericial for a hair product. You realize by the end that they are trying to get you to buy into their products by making you feel different emotions as your watching. It really is different from the regular advertisments.

I believe that number 7 is important because if an employee forgets about a meeting they can be reminded and make it there on time. Also they can be informed of last minute schedualing!

Mobile Phone Designs

Out of the 25 amazing different models of phones I looked through, it was really hard to pick just one I would like. Although I don't get to read anything about the features, from the pictures I thought that the new iphone next generation was really cool. It showed something that is connected to your wrist and then the menu is projected onto your hand where you can click the buttons just like you were using the touch screen. Another one I liked was the Fluid mobile phone design where it looks like the phone can bend different ways and be flexible.

Above were the phones that looked the most intesting to play with, but one I thought would make things easier was the nokia icon design. With it acting like a wrist watch, you could carry it around anywhere.

Using Ecards in Buisnesses

Assignment: 1. Why should a business use e cards?

It's really important for businesses to incorporate e cards into their  routines. This is because in order to keep up their popularity and sales, a good relationship with their clients is necessary. If there was something needed to be told to a client, a regular email could work but is not as effective. Going online, picking an appropriate e card to suit what they need to say shows the effort they put into things, and that they are being thought of. Since there are always many clients its important for them to feel like they stand out, and are liked or else they could leave the business.

Communicating Skills

After reading through that website and then taking the personal test according to my communication skills, I recieved a 47. It said "You're a capable communicator, but you sometimes experience communication problems. Take the time to think about your approach to communication, and focus on receiving messages effectively, as much as sending them. This will help you improve." I think this applies to me and I will work on my communicating skills more because they are important in life!

Also when they talk about "Cultural Barriers" They are referring to effective communication with people of different cultures is especially challenging. Cultures provide people with ways of thinking--ways of seeing, hearing, and interpreting the world. Thus the same words can mean different things to people from different cultures, even when they talk the "same" language. When the languages are different, and translation has to be used to communicate, the potential for misunderstandings increases.

Going Blog Wild: Swiftpoint - www.futuremouse.com

This mouse really caught my eye. I chose it because of its many features. It's quite small, wireless and can travel wherever you go right attatched to your computer. A lot more precise than a track pad, it can be used on any surface available including your touchpad. It looks like it smoothly moves over surfaces enabling you to work quickly and effortlessly. It seems almost too small for certain hands put its pen-like grip makes it fine to use for any size of hand. Therefore, all of those factors make it a hassle free and ideal mouse.

Digital story telling

Assignment
In your own blog record your answers to the following:

1. Define: marketing, rich media, testimonial, 'About Us'
2. How has Coca Cola used digital story telling?
3. Visit one of the above sample sites and record your impressions.
4. How might you use PhotoStory or other program for telling digital stories in another of your classes?

1.
Marketing- includes identifying unmet needs; producing products and services to meet those needs: and pricing, distributing, and promoting those products and services to produce a profit.

Rich media-Media richness theory, sometimes referred to as information richness theory, is a framework to describe a communications medium by its ability to reproduce the information sent over it

testimonial-a testimonial or show consists of a written or spoken statement, sometimes from a person figure, sometimes from a private citizen, extolling the virtue of some product.

'about us'- information page

2.Visitors see live storytellers introduce digital stories about what Coke has meant to generations of drinkers!

3. My impressions are that the websites are a good idea because the people get to tell there story to everyone on the internet!

Working at Google

I don't think I've ever seen such a well put together work environment for the employees at Google. I wish every job had the same opportunities as it does there! I think no one would ever want to leave work because I personally would rather just live there.

Animator vs. Animation

This video would go great with the song "Eye of the tiger" because the video could use a good beat to fight with

Response to Stop Motion Videos

After watching these two videos, blog your thoughts as to how you might use stop-motion to communicate in one of your other classes.

WOW! Those were some amazing videos. I can only imagine how much time was spent to make them! Rather than making a boring, traditional movie presentation for a certain subject, you can make it a lot more interesting with the process of stop motion videos...There could be endless ideas!

Free Microsoft Programs

Selections:

1. Microsoft Transliteration Utility (TU)

This program is an easy translator for someone who needs a dependable source to convert their text into another language. Instead of retyping it into a unreliable internet site that could give out false results, this can be accessed effortlessly and would take no time at all. If you wanted to talk to a friend in a foreign country this is the perfect translator to communicate successfully over the computer.

2. Microsoft Calculator Plus

This utility is not your average digital calculator. This free downloaded software gives you many options to make things easier and more efficient in your calculations; for example, it makes conversions. If you were doing a math project on the computer than you could simply just click its icon and your ready to go. After you've done your certain calculations you can communicate it into your work.

Response to Waveface

Even though we have so much technology that helps us day to day but some possible next steps could be...

-Easier voice activation
-Easier ways to type on phones
-Tv's with all the abilities of phones and ipods

Thoughts on Digitally shopping

Technology has brought us so far since the dawn of time and we now have more and more amazing opportunities to make our lives easier. One of the things that I think is a pain personally, is trying on clothes before you buy them. It would be way easier if we could digitally try on clothes without physically doing it. Well now we have that! Just as the video showed, the girl picked through different clothes and different colours just like she would in real life.

The weeks so far...

From the very beginning in this business class we have been constantly learning about computers as well as different ways to communicate. These skills are useful in life but can also be applied to other subjects in school. Since I have learned things like how to organize information, it will be easier to be successful in my other classes.

Creative Resumes

Traditional resumes are usually boring to read and have no excitement to them. I think the way that the creative CV's are made are really original and could really show a persons personality just by looking at them. It would definitely catch the
companies eye who you were trying to persuade to hire you. This idea could be modified into numerous creative ways that would not only be fun but shows you put a lot of effort into your work.
